History of Electrolysis

Then

Electrolysis began in 1875 for use in the medical field (to remove ingrown eyelashes). It was invented by Charles Michel, an ophthalmologist. The only modality available was galvanic and treatments were very slow; up to five minutes per hair follicle. Around 1900, the first commercialized electrolysis equipment became available and around 1920, the thermolysis modality was developed, but was not yet as effective as galvanic. Electrolysis became FDA-approved for permanent hair removal in 2007.

Now

Today, electrolysis is still the only FDA-approved permanent hair removal solution. All modalities (thermolysis, galvanic, and blend) are very effective, while thermolysis remains the fastest at treating hair during an appointment. The newest state-of-the-art electrolysis machine on the market today is the Apilus Xcell Pur 27.12 MHz. This industry leading machine offers increased comfort and exceptional effectiveness, allowing for quicker permanent results. ElectraBeauty only uses the Apilus Xcell Pur so we can provide the best treatment and most comfort to our clients.
