How Electrolysis Works

Electrolysis is permanent hair removal. Multiple treatments are needed to treat all the hair in the desired area. Once complete, you will have permanent, maintenance-free results!

Destroying the Hair Cells to Stop Growth

Electrolysis uses energy to create heat or a substance called lye, which in turn destroys the hair growth cells to prevent a new hair from forming. Each modality works slightly different in how it stops hair from growing. To learn more, visit the                    page.

Achieving Permanent Results

Permanent results are achieved by following your electrologist's recommended treatment schedule. As hairs grow in different cycles, all hairs are not visible/present at the time of your appointment. Following the recommended schedule allows hairs to be treated as they become visible for maximum results. Treatments will first begin with longer appointments and more frequent visits to your electrologist. As hairs are treated, fewer and fewer will remain, which means less time needed per appointment and less frequent visits until eventually all of your hair is gone within the treated area.

The Equipment

We use the newest state-of-the-art electrolysis machine, the Apilus Xcell Pur 27.12 MHz. This industry leading machine offers increased comfort, quicker results and exceptional effectiveness.

Electrolysis and Hydration

Electrolysis works with the water in your skin. When you stay hydrated before your appointment, your treatment can be more comfortable and will be much more effective.
