Electrolysis Modalities

This is the fastest modality of electrolysis. Each hair is only treated for milliseconds at a time. During thermolysis, a small current is applied which stimulates the water molecules of the tissue to vibrate, which then produces heat. This heat energy effectively destroys the hair germ cells to allow permanent hair removal to take place. Since this all occurs so quickly, most people only feel a slight tingling or a quick pinch sensation.

We also sell lidocaine gel to numb the treatment area for those who may need or want it. This should be applied 30 minutes before your appointment for maximum effect.

This is a longer form of electrolysis treatment. Each hair is treated for whole seconds (time is dependent on the hair's thickness). Galvanic electrolysis emits a small current that causes the water and salt in the area to break up and form lye. This lye destroys the hair growth cells in the follicle which results in permanent hair removal.

Blend is a combination of both thermolysis and galvanic modalities. The thermolysis energy heats up the lye to make it even more effective at destroying the hair growth cells.
