Is Electrolysis Right For Me?
Hormone Imbalance
Changes with hormones can occur during menopause, pregnancy, puberty, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), certain surgeries (such as a hysterectomy or thyroidectomy), and with some medications. These can all potentially lead to excess hair growth and electrolysis can be your solution to eliminating this unwanted hair. Some conditions may additionally require medications to be prescribed by your doctor for symptom maintenance.
Gender Affirmation
Clients going through gender reassignment have the opportunity to be their true self. If you are looking for permanent hair removal to be a part of your journey, electrolysis is the answer for you. With the ability to treat any skin tone, hair color, and hair texture, electrolysis can help you eliminate unwanted hair from your face and/or body. We are an LGBTQ friendly salon and encourage anyone seeking permanent hair removal to book a consultation or appointment for their hair removal needs.
Sensitive Areas
Receiving treatment on sensitive areas can be intimidating. At times, clients may even feel embarrassed. These areas can include the breasts and buttocks as well as others. We are here to reassure you that you are not alone if you have unwanted hair in these areas. Electrolysis can provide you with permanent results so you can stop worrying about finding hair where you don't want it. ElectraBeauty is a judgement-free zone where we maintain discretion and confidentiality to ensure you are comfortable talking to us about your hair removal needs.
Men
Men often receive electrolysis treatment to minimize the time commitment and hassle of shaving. Some men naturally have excess body hair and are looking to decrease the overall density in an area or eliminate it completely. Shaving can also lead to ingrown hairs; with time, electrolysis can help eliminate this problem. Common areas treated include the outer ear, outer nose, in-between the eyebrows, the cheeks, neck, back and chest areas. This is not an all-inclusive list; if desired, treatment can be performed on other areas of the body as well.
Teens
Teenage years can come with many challenges. Why add unwanted hair to the list? If you are a teen who is experiencing excess hair, electrolysis can be the solution. At ElectraBeauty, clients must be at least 15 years old or older to receive treatment. If you are under the age of 18, in-person parental consent is required at your first appointment before treatment will be performed.
Tattooed Areas
Tattoos can sometimes be hidden by unwanted hair. Tired of shaving the area and not sure where else to turn? Electrolysis is the answer. Electrolysis will not damage the skin or ink of a tattoo. Whereas tattoos are off limits for laser hair removal, electrolysis can come to the rescue!
Skin Tone/ Hair Color
Worried that you might not be a good candidate because of your skin tone or color of your hair? Good News! Electrolysis can treat all skin tones and all hair colors. Yes! Even those with blonde, red, grey, or white hairs now have an avenue to achieve permanent hair removal!
Safety
At ElectraBeauty, safety is one of our core values. As such, we use the newest industry leading electrolysis machine to provide increased comfort and quicker results. We only use pre-sterilized, single-use probes, and follow strict disinfection and sterilization procedures set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Typically side effects after a treatment include redness and slight swelling in the treatment area. These tend to disappear within a couple of hours after treatment with proper care. Proper after care can help ensure a quick and seamless healing process.
Although electrolysis is a good option for many people, there are some contraindications that may prevent someone from receiving treatment.
